I spent quite a bit of time this morning reviewing Professor Garfield. And, yes, the cartoon character, Garfield, is the “host” of this web site. At fist sight, one sees that it is extremely Viagra Jelly colorful and filled with all kinds of up tempo sounds that kids are sure to enjoy. While the music and sounds that accompany this site are Brand Levitra such, I think that they would become bothersome to some children (and adults) who have a sensitivity to sounds. Yet, sound can be toggled on and off. There is so much to experience on this site, that I would be careful to introduce each component to students one at a time so that together we could fully explore the wealth contained in this site.

Transport to Reading for the younger students focuses on phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency and comprehension. Eleven comic books can be found in the Toon Book Reader section. Students have the option of listening to them being read or reading them to themselves. For sequencing, one may decide to use Reading Ring. G-Cubed is a fun trivia game for older elementary student in which students can play against another student or Professor Garfield himself.

There is much more to this web site than what I’ve covered. I encourage you to look at the site map. It gives a brief description of each component and the suggested grade levels. Finally, having an interactive white board to present the various components of this site to students would be very advantageous.

Since this is such a dense site, it is imperative that teachers preview this site and have a plan of action when using it. Remember to share this with the students’ parents as well!

This is a definite keeper for me. I’m sure my little geniuses will love it, too! Your evaluation of Professor Garfield is appreciated.

Today is a tutoring day for me. Kamagra jelly I go into school for an hour to tutor a precious little boy who wants to learn more! It’s exciting to Kamagra Gold be with him on his quest for leaning. While I was there, I had the opportunity to see several of my students from last year who were there for Vacation Bible School. Their broad smiles and waving arms deeply warmed my heart. “Hi! Mrs. Hammons!! How is your summer going? I sure miss you!” And, then, the hugs! Those words and hugs never get old, even after 26 year. I think about these kids and wonder how different their futures are going to be from their present. More deeply I wonder how my teaching and their learning is preparing them for that future. Do I teach like I did 26 years ago? No, way! Kids aren’t learning the way they did 26 years ago either. As I continue to evolve as a teacher, one of my top priorities is helping them prepare for tomorrow. This means, that I, too, must prepare for my tomorrow! So, I continue to read, try, practice, and plan to do just that. Here’s to you, kids…to your futures and mine!

However, I woke up this morning a changed woman! Brand Cialis I had to look some more. This indecisiveness was finally settled with the current choice. Well, after all these years of contemplating whether or not to start a personal/professional blog, I’ve decided to take the plunge. After many years of teaching, I still consider it an adventure. I can’t think of anything else I would want to do. Throughout my years, I’ve made positive relationships with students, parents, and coworkers. Some of these have been only for a while, and others have lasted the test of not only time but of relocation as well. This summer my goal is to find newer ways to do the things that I already do. One of these goals is to create tests using Google Docs and then using a new found software called Flubaroo to grade the tests…automatically! I’ll keep you informed as to how that is going.

I thought I’d explain the title of this web site, “Guardian of Genius”. It’s always been my belief and practice that not only can all kids learn, but all kids can learn wonderful things in their own way and in their own time. As long as we support and encourage our students that they indeed can be “genius” and instill a love of learning, we have touched their lives forever. I’ve learned to become an advocate for “my” kids in all kinds of ways that show them care and a belief in them that they can do anything they put their genius to. Therefore, the title of this blog: “Guardian of Genius”.
